A New Chapter Begins

In 2015, Phyo Thu brought
Fox & Co to life. Leveraging his extensive experience in feature film animation and VFX, he had
a clear vision – to build a distinct and forward-thinking animation studio.

Together with Nico, a capable freelancer, and two enthusiastic interns, Callum & Hamish, they set up operations in a shared office space. Their initial endeavour was an engaging Rugby Smart Graphics package for NZ Rugby, marking the promising start of Fox & Co’s journey in the realm of animation and design.

Opening the Doors to our New Office

This was a year of growth and innovation. Our team moved to a fresh new office space and welcomed our first full-time staff member.

We hit the ground running, crafting a dynamic show opening and in-show motion graphics for Bebe Rexha’s Tracking Back show on MTV2. It was our first foray into broadcast media, and we loved every minute of it!

The Year of Firsts

2017 brought more milestones. We welcomed a charming pug into our office family and completed our first in-house project – a creative venture that celebrated our second anniversary.

The year was also marked by our collaboration with Nick Cannon, resulting in a punchy show opening and graphic package for MTV’s Wild ‘N Out Season 10.

Sharing Insights & New Horizons

In this year, Phyo shared his wisdom at Creative Morning, inspiring others with his insights into the world of animation.

We also produced a unique short film, “What is Motion Design,” showcasing our craft’s power and flexibility. Our global reach extended further with a global campaign for EyeLevel Global Brand Theatre.

Power Collaborations

In 2019, we teamed up with Vox Media to produce an engaging branded explainer for Slack. We also embarked on an exciting project with Google and PRX, creating our first-ever mixed media education series – a thrilling blend of technology and creativity.

The Spotlight on Creativity

This year saw us designing a dazzling opening and visual design for internet sensation Mr. Beast’s ‘The Creator Games,’ in collaboration with Fly On The Wall Entertainment and Youtube Originals.

We were also privileged to contribute to Facebook Watch’s Vote-a-thon campaign. To top it all, we were finalists at the prestigious Wellington Gold Awards – a testament to our creative prowess.

Diving into Virtual Production

In 2021, we soared to new heights, providing a virtual production solution for MTV WNO Seasons 16 and 17. Inspired by the likes of Mad Max and cyberpunk, we produced an opening that was both edgy and immersive.

Additionally, we produced an astounding series of 54 cyberpunk-themed Hip Hop music videos for Wild ‘N Out Seasons 16 and 17.

Crossing the Ditch

This was a landmark year for us as we made our grand foray into the entertainment sector, producing two full-length animated films. Adding to our pioneering spirit, we participated in the esteemed New Zealand Film Commission and Unreal Engine Short Film Challenge. Our innovation was recognized as we bagged the coveted Best Design Award for Motion for Mobile Promo and clinched a finalist position at the Wellington Gold Awards.

The year also marked an exciting phase of growth for us. We launched a new office in Sydney, bringing our unique blend of creativity and technology to the Australian market. Leading this strategic expansion is our newly appointed local CEO, Ezra Auperle. With a wealth of industry experience and a keen understanding of global markets, Ezra is driving our ambition to make an even more significant impact in the entertainment sector and extend our footprint globally.

Celebrating Accolades and Innovation

In 2023, our creativity and innovation were lauded on a grand scale. We were the proud recipients of not just one, but two Telly Awards. These prestigious awards, in Title Design and Motion Design, pay testament to our unrelenting dedication to the craft of animation, setting us apart in the industry.

In our quest to continually push the boundaries of animation, we ventured into the production of a captivating nine-part online animated video series. This project allowed us to delve deeper into storytelling through animation, further establishing our commitment to innovation and excellence in every project we undertake.

At Fox & Co, we believe in the transformative power of storytelling through animation. It’s how we captivate audiences and convey messages that strike at the heart of human emotion.

We understand that in a world buzzing with content, what sets a brand apart is the ability to not just be seen, but to be felt. Our mission is to ensure that your message isn’t just broadcasted—it resonates.

We do more than just animate — we create characters, worlds, and beautiful graphics.  Breathing life into the otherwise static, we infuse each motion with a pulse and purpose.

We’re more than just creators of motion. At Fox & Co, we are Makers of eMotion. It’s who we are, and it’s what drives us forward, one frame at a time.
